Naomi Ackie joins the cast of MORNING

BAFTA winner Naomi Ackie officially joins the ensemble cast of Oscar winner Laura Dern and Emmy winner Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming sci-fi drama Morning. She will also join previously announced cast member Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place).

MORNING is set in a near future where society has a pill that does away with the need to sleep. With the added help of an artificial sun, there is finally no end to morning daylight, living and work. But as a young generation grows up deprived of the world of sleep, is it time for them to rebel and reclaim their dreams?


The story follows Cathy (Dern) — an ambitious, driven early advocate of a sleepless world — who, as she hurtles toward the anniversary of her husband Frank’s death (played by Cumberbatch), attempts to repair her relationship with her son, Danny (Jupe). Naomi Ackie is set to portray a woman connected to Frank's past, whose appearance brings up memories Cathy has been fighting hard to surpress.

“The script is so beautifully written and the world building immaculate. I can’t wait to be a part of creating this piece of work!” said Ackie in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

Naomi Ackie is a British actress who has captivated audiences both on stage and on screen with her captivating performances. She became known for her role in the hit television series "The End of the F***ing World" and went on to star in the critically acclaimed film "Lady Macbeth". Ackie has also made a name for herself in Hollywood, starring in the blockbuster "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" and she most recently starred as Whitney Houston in the biopic "Whitney Houston: I wanna dance with somebody."
